PRODUCT AND LEATHER QUESTIONS
The leather is 100% premium grade buffalo leather which is treated with special oils to ensure it keeps looking antique and rustic, feeling soft and smelling great for a very long time. We do not use PU, bonded or fake leather.
Each leather product is made by hand by our skilful artisans so they are individual and can vary, making yours personal with a uniquely distressed style.
Half the fun of your new notebook or bookmark is carrying it around, scuffing it up, and making it as unique as the journeys you take it on. If you are not a fan of the scuffed up look simply wipe the leather with a slightly damp soft cloth. Rubbing hard with your fingers also will change its appearance and fade many marks.
The leather we use is pre-treated with oils or tanned, therefore it will stand up to a lifetime of use. If you desire however, you can use mink oil or vegetable oils to darken and soften the leather.
Many of our journals are non-refillable keepsake journals. However, we do have many refillable journals and leather notebook covers in different sizes. We supply lined and unlined notebook refills for our A5 refillable journals, and replacement notebooks for our field note covers.

For customising individual products, our customers have found that some cobblers or craft shops offer this service. Also there are leather stamps which can be purchased online which we have heard work very well for embossing initials or names.
